a big programme
(Dy Telegraph.—Own 'orrespondent.)
DUNEDIN, Friday,
Following to-.morrow night's contest between Tommy Griffiths and Archie Hughes, the Otago Boxing Association lias arranged a splendid programme for the next month or so. Next Saturday week Johnny Leekie faces the English feather-weight Norman Radford, and as the latter should be thoroughly acclimatised by then a good mill can be confidently looked for, though Radford is not regarded as having the punch of Tommy Barber. The Englishman is a clever boxer and should make the Dunedin bov do his best to. win. The issue is fairly open, and great interest will be attached to the bout as giving further indication as to how Leckie's meeting -with Barber i-? likely to go. Then on July 2S Tommy Barber, virtually feather-weight champion of Australia, will face Tommy Griffiths, who will do battle the following week with Radford. The visitors will find before-they are through that, outside of Leekie Griffiths is another boxer who may not be taken lightly. His great cleverness is well known to Dunedin fight follower,s, and he is bound to make a showing against both Radford and Barber. Then, as a grand finale, will be what promises to be a Homeric battle between Johnny Leekie and Tommy Barber. This match, which will practically decide who is the best feather-weight in Australasia to-day, will take place on Aur;nst 11.
