CROQUET.
THE UNITED CLUB
There was a good attendance of members ut tlie annual meeting of the United Croquet Club, presided over by the president, Mrs. H. Cooke.
The financial statement and balancesheet were considered satisfactory, as fairly heavy expenses had been incurred during the season.
The following officers were elected :— Patron, Mrs. H. Cooke ; president, Mrs. H. Coltman ; vice-presidents, Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Bolitlio; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Croxford ; club captain, Mrs. Brabant; committee, Mesdames Fullerton, Coutts, Vatise, Fearnley, Daniels, Brabant ami Miss BroadUent'; mtttcli committee, Mesdajnes Coutts, FiilTertori, Brabant; green superintendents, Mr. nnd Mrs. H. R. Cooke; delegates to Auckland Association, Mesdames Coltman and Coutts.
A vote of thanks ,was passed to Mrs, Cooke for her entertainment of the club.
MANGERE EAST CLUB.
The first annual social and presentation of prizes of the Mango re East Croquet Clu4» •was held in tho Matjgere East Hall 'oil Wednesday evening. The hall had been attractively decorated with 'maroon, gold and white, the club' colours, and pretty. , Japanese parasolsuidded au additional touch of colour to the scheme. The M.C.'s were Messrs. G. Laslett and Ij. Stddd. A Monte /Carlo waltz was won by Mr. Ellet and Miss Rennle. The SOO tournament was won by Mrs. Laslett, snr., with Mrs. .Jameson second. The consolation prize was won by Mr. Alf. Prangioy' with Mr. Empen consolation .second.
The opportunity was taken of presentingr Mrs. Kerr, the late secretary of the club, with a beautiful Indian vase as an appreciation of her valued services as an executive officer. Mrs. W. R. Knight, president of the clti'b, made the presentation, and also presented the following clu'b ' competition winners with their trophies: Championship singles, Mrs. W. G. Burrett; runner-up, Mrs. W. K. Knight. First year championship: Miss Dunn ; runner-up, Mrs. Chapman. A grade handicap singles : Mrs. W. K. Knight; runner-up, Mr. W. G. Burrett. B grade handicap single: Mrs. G. Laslett; runnerup, Mrs. L. Sigley. -Handicap doubles: Mrs. W. G. Burrett and "Miss Timms; runners-' up, Mrs. J. Dunn and Mrs. L. Sigley. 'Representatives were present from all the neighbouring clubs, and from -as far afield as the Rotorua and Mauku clubs.
