LAST LINK IN CHAIN. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The beam wireless service between Australia and Canada was officially opened at midnight, thus completing the Empire chain of telephone communications. It is thought that the new service will bring America and Australia closer in touch.

The Governor-General of Australia, Lord Stonehaven, exchanged congratulations with Viscount Willingdon, Gov-ernor-General of Canada, and the Canadian authorities.
