WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.
I CONNELL—SHARROCK. St. Thomas' Church was chosen for 4 the wedding of Doria Kat}»te«n Sharrock. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. «J. Sharrock, of New Plymouth, when she became the wife of John, fourth son of Mrs. M. Connell, of Auckland. The marriage took place on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. H. M. Drummon'd officiated. Entering the church with Mr. Alfred Ford, the "bride wore a pretty frock of beige silk chepe de chine, trimmed with pastel blue satin and guipure lace. A satin hat of air force blue, with buckle of brilliants, and a shower bouquet of pink roses, white azaleas, and blue delphiniums was completed with narrow satin ribbon and wide tulle bow. The bridesmaid, Miss Daisy Carr, was gowned in pale primrose crepe de chine embroidered in crimson and black, crimson hat. and bouquet to tone. Mr. W. J. Smith was best man. Mrs. Ford wore a nary blue crepe de chine, trimmed with fawn georgette, hat with green spray | of foliage.
cole—Mcdowell. A wedding of local interest took place on Thursday afternoon at St. Joseph"s Church, Ohakune, the contracting parties being Miss Elma Florence McDowell, third daughter of Mrs. A. J. McDowell, and the late Mr. A. J. McDowell, ol Ohakune, and Mr. Leslie Alfred Cole, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Cole, of Ohakune. The Rev. Father Sweeney officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, looked charming in a frock of white crepe de chine, with an over-dress of silver lace, and she wore a veil and coronet and silver shoes. She carried a bouquet of white rose and pale pink lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Maud Dowling and Miss Eileen Cressv. Miss Dowling was prettily frocked in mauve crepe de chine, with lace inserted, and wore a hat to match. Miss Cressv wore pale green crepe de chine and hat to match. Bouquets <U chrysanthemums were carried. Mr. D. Farrell acted as best man, and Mr. L. McDowell as groomsman. The bride's mother wore a frock of heliotrope rej• |> with hat to match. The bridegroom's mother was in pale pink fleur de chine, and hat to match. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's mother.
