RUGBY FOOTBALL.
PAPAKURA CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) PAPAKURA, Wednesday. The annual genera! meeting of the Panakura Football Club was held last evening the president (Mr. B. C. Foote) presiding over a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £17 for the last season's activities. The following officers were elected: I'atron, Mr. E. D. MrLennan, M.P.; president, Mr. E. C. Foote; secretary, Mr. W. Allen; treasurer, Mr. W. L. Elliott; club captain, Mr. H. C. Thorburn; selectors, (senior) E. C. Foote, T. Hyde and captain of team, (junior) H. C. Thorburn, A. Wallis and captain of team; delegates to Manukau Union, Messrs. W. L. Elliott and T. Hyde During the evening it was decided to adopt an insurance scheme. At the start of last season Mr. A. Wallis donated a medal for the most unselfish junior player, and it was announced that Mr. H. Walker had won the medal. An application for a clearance to play for Grammar Old Boys was received from W. Francis. The dnb decided to refer the matter to the Manukau Union meet ' n S Saturday night. The first practice is to be held on Saturday. It was intimated to the meeting that Papakura could put in a third grade team this year, and it was decided to confer with delegates from other clubs at the union meeting to find out the possibilities of running a third grade competition.
