TROTTING.
ADDINGTON GOSSIP. WAIRUA IN FORM. YOUNG BLAKE BEATS WESTERN VOYAGE. GOLDEN DEVON AND LOGAN PARK GO WELL. (Bj Telegraph.—Special to "SUr.**! CHRIST CHURCH, Wednesday. The race track at Addington is now open for training operations, and it is in very fair (under, despite the rough work that has been done on it by drays and horses through the alterations to the corner going out of the straight. In a very few days the staff will have it in firet-olass order again. Although within a fortnight of the Easter meeting, very little fast work is being done at headquarters. There are so many raas meetings now taking place timt horses are raced into form, and do not require much fast training work. The best piece of work done at Addington yesterday morning was between Golden Devon and Logan Park. The former was without hopples, and had the inside. The pacers went two miles; the first mile and a-quarter at a good clip, but the last port of the journey was much slower. As was to be expected Logan Park was seen to more advantage t>ha<n his mate over the concluding stages, but both hones paced well. Young Blake (on the outside), with Western Voyage as a companion, vent
nearly two miles. Hie former was mudfc too good for the Australian trotter.
Locanda Boy and Daisy Pointer, accompanied by Springtime in the saddle, went nearly two miles, but not at top speed. Daisy Pointer led throughout, but Locanda Boy was under a' strong pull. The West Coast-owned paoer is a rare good stayer, and is seen a>t bis best over a two-mile course.
Double Event, who has furnished out a good deal during his spell, went a little more than a mile, pacing very well for the short time he has been in work.
. Author Franz, who is coming on well, and a maiden pacer of H. B. Hubbard's, went nearly a mile and a-half, both young horses doing their work in good style.
Wairua went a mile and a-half well, on the outside of the track, at nearly top speed. The pacer looks tip-top. Fight Ever, who seems to race best on a dirt track, was given useful work over aoout a mile and a-quarter.
