SPEEDY FUNERAL.

town regulations broken.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WANGANUI, this day.

The speed of a funeral which took place in Wanganui yesterday gave rise to much comment. The funeral left Hunterville, 51 miles from Wanganui, at 12.30 p.m., and reached the town bridge, Wanganui, at 2.40 p.m. It was joined at the bridge by several cars containing Wanganui residents, and the speed, which was well in excess of that allowed by the town regulations, was maintained for most of the way to the Upper Aramoho cemetery. When some of the mourners returned they were unanimously of the opinion that it was the fastest funeral they had ever attended.
