MONEY ON MORTGAGE. At the annual meeting of shareholders in the Farmers' Co-operative Insurance Association of New Zealand at Christchurch yesterday, the chairman, Mr. F. W. Johnston, said that although the year had been a strenuous one, and conditions not the brightest, the company had had a successful period. He referred to the operations of Lloyds' underwriters, and said he did not think local companies were getting a fair deal from them. In spite of the present conditions, the company was still able to pursue its policy of lend ing money on mortgages.
