A projected departure from Auckland this evening Is the American steamer West Islip for Wellington. Lyttelton. Dunedln. Bluff, and New Plymouth, to unload the balance of her cargo. OCEAN TRANSPORT SAILED. Cargo operations on the Ocean Transport were completed iatc last night and this morning the vessel sailed for New Plymouth. From New Plymouth she will go to Newcastle to complete discharge of her sulphur «cargo. • j THE CANADIAN CHALLENGER. For further discharge of her Montreal cargo, the steamer Canadian Challenger is to sail to-morrow afternoon for Wellington. Lyttelton. Timaru and Dunedln. Later she will load for New York. Hoi-Jon and Montreal, returning to Auckland to nil up. KARTIGIS PROGRAMME. Shortly before midnight, the Kartigt sailed for Portland to unload gypsum from Australia. The seventh annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Shipping Officers' Guild was held last evening in the Mecca Cafe, about thirty members being present. Mr. E. H. Wing occupied the chair. It was decided to forward a remit to Wellington favouring payment of wages every fortnight instead of every month, as at present. Members expressed appreciation of the long service rendered by Mr. F. J. O'Meara. who had been president since the formation of the branch. Mr. Wing was elected president, and Mr. A. G. AStken secretary. OMANA IN PORT. After a flne-weather voyage across the Tasman. the Limb steamer Omana arrived at Auckland this morning «nd berthed at the King's wharf to discharge hardwood from Port Stephens. She left Port Stephens at 6 a.m. on Friday last, and averaged nine knots throughout the trip. The Omana is to sail early next week for Tanranga to complete discharge. Captain J.
