MAILBAG MISSING.
ADDRESSED TO HAMILTON. XO REGISTERED LETTERS. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Xo trace has yet been discovered of a mailbag which was dispatched from Auckland to Hamilton on Saturday. The bag was received at Frankton Junction, but did not reach Hamilton. It was not missed until yesterday. The police believe it has either been stolon or misdirected. Mr. W. J. Gow, chief postmaster at Auckland, has been advised that the missing mail bag was received at Frankton Junction on arrival of the train from Auckland on Saturday evening, since which time all trace of it has been lost. He stated that the bag contained ordinary letters and not registered matter. It would probably contain a portion of the Maheno's Australian mail for tho Waikato. Inquiries -were still being pursued, but the opinion was expressed that the bag had been stolen. The mail bag was placed on the Wai- ! kato train which left Auckland at 5.2.1 p.m. on Saturday and was due at Frankton at 8.50 p.m.
