ROTORUA NOTES.
The Po Hari committee dance, which was held at the Peeriess Hail on Monday evening, was most successful. The ball Had been gaily decorated with streamer* in shades of orange and mauve, while in the centre a dais of massed tree fern* where Ellis' orchestra rendered excellent music, with extras played by Miss K. Hall and Miss Downey. The corners of the hall were converted into cosy lounges. The stage, where a sumptuous sit-down supper was served, was decorated with bowls of arum lilies and freesias. while the supper table was arranged with frwtiaa and* anemones. The host and host***. The social committee <4 the Rotorua Rueby Football Union held a dance and 500 tournament at Dixieland cabaret on Monday night, when the visitinjr Auckland Rugby football team were the suests of honour. There was a large attendance of dancers and card players, the prises for oards being won by Mrs. Xorr:«. for the ladies, and Mr*. Smith, playing as a gentleman, for the gentle men. Hunter's orchestra supplied excellent music, and a dainty supper was served. Mr. Overton-Smith, president of the Hotorua Rugby Tnion. extended a hearty welcome to the guests.
