MOTOR CYCLE STOLEN.

YOUNG MAN CHARGED.

OTHER CHARGES PENDING,

Last week a motor-cycle was stolen from the garage of Roland Heslop, in West Street, Newton. It was later identified by its number by the traffic inspector at Avondale, who accosted the driver and then handed the matter over to the Avondale police. Detective Sergeant Issel interviewed the rider, who was not successful in establishing legal possession. He said that he had bought the machine from a man whom he did not know, and that, the seller had given him a forged receipt. In the Police Court this morning, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., John Henry Moran, aged 23, was charged with breaking and entering the garage on July 27 and with stealing the motor-cycle valued at £42.

Detective Sergeant Kelly stated that there were other charges pending, and asked for a week's remand, which was granted.
