RUGBY IN THE NORTH.
REP. MATCHES AH HANGED,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAIIEI, this day. At a meeting o£ the North Auckland Rugby Union last night challenges were received for the Harding Senior Shield lrom the Whangarei, Rodney, and Bay of Islands Unions, and from the Bay of Islands for the Brake Junior Shield. It was decided to register these challenges and to make a draw at the end of the month. Any other challenges of later dale are to be added. The Auckland Union advised th;;t July 2., was the only date available for its team to visit Whangarei, and if a suitable match could be played on that date. The union approved the date. The following dates were fixed for the Northern tour, to commence at Whangarei on July 30 Otainatea, August 2; Rodney, August 4 ; Northern Wairoa, August 0. In order to finance the tour it was decided to pool all the gates and pay expenses. 'The Auckland versus North Auckland match will be played at Whangarei. Referee for the big matches will he selected from the North Auckland Referees' Association. Three names were selected and sent to the .Auckland union for approval.
