AUCKLAND'S SEASON OUTPUT. TOTAL OK IC.noo CASES OVERSEAS Fruit exported from the Auckland province this season is expected to amount to between Ifi.OOO and 17,000 cases. Up to the present 14.120 cases of apples and pear* have either been shipped or are in cool store await ins: shipment. South America will take 75-17 and England 0387 cases ot apples, while 1195 cases of pears will have been sent overseas bv the end of the season. In addition, "it is anticipated that these figures will be increased by approximately 2000 cases A total of 9603 cases of apples* and 0SI» cases of pears have already been shipped S ° . o F J 1S spnscm - and 3321 cases of apnl.-s and 200 cases of pears are in store at Auckland awaiting shipment for South America and England.

AUCKLAND IMPORTS.

FIGURES FOR MARCH. A return from the traffic manager (Mr V\ Golden) presented to a meeting of thAuckland Harbour Board this afternoon showed that the Auckland import* for the month of March totalled 100.233 tons r.s compared with 113,635 tens for the same month of last year. Thedetails of these importations are: — Xew Zealand coastal (beyond the pnv vince), 35,501 tons; Pacific Islands. 9633 tons, Australia, 19.070 tons; Belgium. 7020 tons; Unitod Kingdom. 29.61S tons; Canada, 4968 tons; United States, 11,333 tons. During March 1712 passengers arrived nt Auckland and 1557 departed.

BUTTER FOR CANADA.

SHIPMENT ON NIAGARA. When the Niagara leaves Auckland this afternoon she will take between 7000 and 8000 boxes of New Zealand butter for Vancouver. There has been a fairly good market in Canada this year for New Zealnni , . butter, and it is expected that before the season closes fully 150.000 boxes will hnvc been shipped to that country. The working of the l'atersnn sicheme in Australia has proved or" advantage to Now Zealand, for the Canadian Government hold* the \ io-.v that it operates as a liQiinty in favour i.f .in export busine.es and insist u>>.in the right to charge a dumping duty accordingly. New Zealand has therefore received business of which under former conditions Australia would have taken a ehare.
