This morning, at the Magistrate s Court, before Mr. W. G. K. Kenrick, S.M.. F. L. Crawford, a cadet. IS years old. employed by the Tourist Department, pleaded guilty to the theft of £ti- 14/11, the property of the Department. The manager of the Tourist Department said accused received a salary of £8-. with £50 house allowance. When taxed with the thefts accused acknowledged his guilt, saying he spent the money in dance halls, joy riding, and in presents to girls. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence.
