DOMINION SURF COMPETITION. MARANUI SPORTS HELD. <By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. The Dominion surf championship events were commenced to-day. Eight teams competed in the land work and the placings were as follow :—Canterbury. 61J points. 1 ; Maranui A, 60$. 2; Lyall Bay B, 59J. 3: Maranui, 56J. 4; Lyall Bay C. SCJ. 5: Lyall Bay A. ooi. 6; Taranaki A, 54, 7 ; Taranaki B. 49J, 8. In water work the positions were:— Maranui A 60J. Maranui B 57J, Lyall Bay B 57, Canterbury ooi, Taranaki A 551. Lyall Bay A 54J, Lyall Bay C 522. Taranaki B 51. At the end of the day Maranui A was leading with 121 points. Canterbury and Lyall Bay B having 1161. Maranui B 1141, Lyall Bay A 1091- Taranaki A 109J, Lyall Bay C 109 and Taranaki B 1033.
