PICTURE CONFISCATED.
SEQUEL TO A PROSECUTION. UNUSUAL APPLICATION GRANTED. (By Telegrash.—Special to " Star.") CHR_»rCHURCE, tais day. An unusual application came before Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, when the police asked for an order for the destruction of a cigarette case, which, on account of the picture printed thereon, resulted in Edwin J. Fearon being fined some weeks ago for exposing "an indecent document" for sale. Sergeant McXamara said that he found the case on a pedestal in front of the barber's chair in the back of the shop. The picture was not exposed to view and defendant had said that it was kept there for other reasons than sale. In evidence, defendant said the case was behind a number of other articles. He had refused to sell it to several people who had asked to see the case, which had caused his appearance before the Court on a previous occasion. He was keeping the cigarette case for "further evidence." Tlie magistrate granted the order as applied for.
