CIVIC COMMISSION.
SITTINGS RESUMED. SIR JOHN SULMAN'S RETURN. The Civic Commission was in session again this morning, upon the return of Sir John Sulman to Auckland. Associated with Sir John was Mr. W. E. Bush (city engineer). The personnel of the commission will be completed by the return of Mr. S. Hurst Seager from Christchurch to-morrow morning. Sir John Sulman arrived in Auckland on Saturday night from Rotorua, accompanied by Lady Sulman and daughter. During the past fortnight he visited a number of towns and resorts in the North Island, and expressed his delight to-day at what he had seen. The tour included Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier, and the Thermal Springs district. Sir John said that he had admired the pictureque cliff section near Napier, adding that it reminded him of some Continental places and various scenic attractions in England. He made the journey from Napier to Wairakei by motor over the mountains, and declared that he had been much impressed by the beautiful scenery along the mountain route.
