OVERCROWDED SCHOOLS.
VISIT BY THE MINISTER. TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME. Several schools at which, the problem of overcrowding had attracted attention from the Auckland Education Board were visited by the Minister of Education (the Hon. R. A. Wright) to-day, in company with Mr. A. Burns (chairman of the Board) and Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau. The schools visited during the morning were Mount Roskill, Te Papapa and Cornwall Park. At each school the children were assembled in the playground and addressed by the Minister. This afternoon a visit was made to Xewton West school, and arrangements were made for the Minister to receive a deputation from the Auckland School Committees' Association at 4.30 p.m. Mr. W. E. Parry, M.P., will head the deputation. In addition to visiting the schools mentioned the Minister also inspected the new site of four acres for the Parnell school.
