The recent series of fires Mayor Rolph described as the worst that San Francisco has experienced since 1906. The damage is estimated at 300,000 doilars. There were a hundred separate blazes in the residential district started by blazing embers borne by the wind from a wooden baseball grandstand, where the fire originated.— (A. and N.Z.)
