HOUSE OF LORDS.

OVERSEA REPRESENTATION. AN IMPERIAL INSTITUTION. LONDON, March 3. The possibility of a representative of the Dominions being included in the House of Lords when the latter has been reformed, thus making it an Imperial House, was given by Lord Strathspey. He suggested that the coming Imperial Conference would provide an opportunity of ascertaining- the opinions of the Prime Ministers of the Dominions on the proposal. He asked if serious thought and consideration would be given to the matter at the conference. The Marquess of Salisbury, Lord Privy Seal, in reply, grave an assurance that the occasion would be tre?.ted with all the seriousness it demanded. The Government anticipated that the discussions and the conclusions of the conferonce would yield very great benefit to Britain and the Empire.— (Reuter.)
