BRITISH TRADE CREDITS.

i WHO SHOULD BENEFIT ? LABOUR MEMBER'S OPINION. LONDON, March 3. - Surprise was created in the House of Commons by Mr. J. Maxton, Labour member for Glasgow (Bridgeton), advocating that the proposed increase in the amount of trade credits should he devoted to the development of the Empire, in which, he said, lay the best chance of a revival of British' trade. Let the money available be sent to India, East Africa and the Dominions, he said. Then the citizens of the Empire would have more to spend on British goods for the benefit of British workmen. Mr. Maxton announced that he will move an amendment on these lines when the bill is in committee. — (A. and N.Z.)
