WEEK-END MISHAPS.

Four accident cases were taken to the Auckland Hospital over the week-end. Fall From Sledge. While driving a sledge laden with timber down an incline, James Moore,' aged 64, of Helensville, fell and fractured his left forearm, and received a blow on the chest. It is thought that several ribs are broken. He underwent an X-ray; examination to-day, and he is reported to be in a satisfactory condition. Baby's Foot Crushed. A child of 19 months, son of Mr. L. C. Pender, of 21, Mackelvie Street, Grey: Lynn, had his foot crushed when return-j ing from Manly on the steamer Waipu j yesterday. The little "boy was standing' near the stern of the vessel, and his foot' became caught in the chain of the' steering gear. The hospital authorities report that he is quite comfortable. Motor Bicycle Skids. Mi&s Jessie Pearn, aged 18, of Ascot Avenue, Remuera, was thrown to the [ ground while pillion riding on a motor! cycle last evening. She received slight concussion. The accident was caused through the C3 r cle skidding on a patch of scoria. Her condition is not serious. Knocked Down By Motor. William Bellehamber, married, aged 33, of 36, Anglesea Street, Ponsonby, received injuries to his head when he was knocked down by a motor car at the ! top of Symonds Street, on Saturday j evening. Yesterday his condition was! said to be serious, but to-day he has| improved considerably. j
