ASHBURTON FIRES.
DEATH OF MR. PAGE. SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Mr. Page, who was badly burned while trying to Bare his motor car from the bush fire, succumbed to his injuries early this morning. He was a married man, aged 40, with four children, aged' from 8 to 14. He was prominently i associated with sports, especially footbafl! and boxing. In the former he repre-1 sented his county, and in the latter was once middle-weight champion of Canterbury. Mr. P. T. Hanrahan, son of Mr. L. Hanrahan, was also ."severely burned in salvage work on the farm owned by his father, and was admitted to hospital. RAIN QUENCHES FIRE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Following a change of wind, steady rain last night removed all danger of further grass fires.
