UNEMPLOYED.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I crave a little space in which to appeal on my own behalf and others similarly' placed, unemployed. It is needless on my part for mc to remark that where there are loved ones —old and young—homes to maintain, etc., dependent upon our efforts, our doubts and fears are intensified. It is most depressing to return to the usual interrogation of those mentioned above the invariable reply, "No luck," and to be buoyed up with the hopeful "Never mind, something is sure to turn up." This, sir, is an appeal to employers of labour, to use their best endeavours to absorb those who are willing, but lack opportunity. I feel sure, sir, that at this period of the year, when special preparations are made for tho coming festive season, there are some kindly disposed employers who would give us employment, even if only of a temporary nature. —I am, etc., GOLDEN RULE.
