PONSONBY RESERVOIR.
'To the Editor.) Sir, —I note with pleasure Mr. Hyv Phillip's letter in your issue of Saturday last re that unsightly corner, namely, the Ponsonby Reservoir. It is time that some change be effected here. As a member of one of the various women's organisations of this city I may state that the Mayor and councillors have already had various suggestions made to them. These were to the effect that in the case of dismantling this ugly old time wall, that the mothers and children should not be forgotten. Something in the nature of a waiting room with conveniences should be included for women and children who pass this corner in their thousands daily from Grey Lynn, Arch Hill, Richmond and Ponsonby, on shopping bent in Karangahape Road. I am sure our Mayor and Councillors, backed by the Karangahape Road business men, will be able to bring to an issue an urgent and long felt want.—l am, etc., ELIZABETH BETTANY.
