WHEN DOCTORS DISAGREE.
A GRAIN OF MUSTARD SEED. THE LAYING ON OF HANDS. FAITH WITHOUT WORKS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.80 a.m.) LONDON, November 12. The secretary of the British Medical Association says the association is not taking official cognisance of the Archbishop •of Canterbury's faith healing Committee. He says there is overmuch difference of opinion among doctors for them to do so. Some heartily believe in spiritual healing. Others seriously oppose the idea underlying it. Dr. Otto May, medical officer of the Prudential Assurance Co., discussing the matter, said the mental state of a patient, particularly in regard to a deeire to become well, together with the faith that he can be cured, is most important. Nevertheless he could not find any evidence leading him towards a belief in Divine interference with the laws of nature or the ordinary physical and psychological laws.—(A. and N.Z.)
