NEW FRENCH COMMISSIONER. MAY CONSULT WITH ENGLAND. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, November 12. The British Government invited M de Jouvenel, the new High Commissioner to Syria, to London to discuse with Mr. Chamberlain and Colonel L. C. M. S. Amery the situation in the Near East as it affects the Anglo-French mandates over Palestine and Syria ve&pectively. It is understood that M. de JouvimeVs acceptance of the invitation depends on the time available before his departure for Syria.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
