FAT STOCK SALES.
i Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report: To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market our supply of fat cattle totalled 576, compared with 481 last week. The total comprised 292 steers, 279 cows and heifers, and 5 bulls. There was a steady demand throughout, and last week's values were fully sustained. Extra choice ox sold to £2 6/ per 1001b, choice and prime ox £2 1/ to £2 5/, ordinary and plain ox £1 17/ to £2, prime young cow and heifer beei £2 to £2 5/, ordinary cow beef £1 14/ to £119/, rough beef £1 to £15/, heavy prime steers ranged in price from £18 to £19 17/6, lighter prime steers £16 to £17 17/6, light prime steers £12 5/ to £16. unfinished and small £8 15/ to £12 3/6 ; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £14 to £17 17/6, heavy prime young cows and heifers £10 10/ to £12 15/, lighter £8 to £10 5/, other killabk cows £5 10/ to £8 15/6, bulls £6 10/ tc £11 5/, old and poor cows £1 15/ to ££ 5/. Seven extra prime steers from Mr H. E. Reed, Waeranga, averaged £19 6/1 each. A truck of extra big cows fron: Messrs. Taylor Bros., Te Awamutu averaged £13 15/6, and seven steers from the same vendor averaged £le 13/10.
