NEWTON NUISANCES.
FOUR MORE BEFORE COURT. MAGISTRATE AGAIN URGES PATROLS. Tills morning at the Juvenile Court four youths, all about 16 years of age, appeared, when they pleaded guilty to charges of behaving in a disorderly manner in Pitt Street on July 18.
Sergeant Calwell said that the four accused cheeked a man and then chased him, afterwards dragging him to the ground and attacking him.
Mr. Hunt: "This sort of conduct in Newton cannot go on much longer. There should be at least three men doing patrol work up there. It is not fair that Mr. Cupit, the Probation Officer, and Mr. Gibb, his assistant, should have to look after the Probation Home and do all the other work. Each accused will be fined 10/- and ordered to pay 10/----witnesses' expenses."
