The Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., report that at the weekly Westfield fat stock market to-day beef was penned in average numbers. There was an improved demand for choice and prime qualities, other classes selling at late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to ."51/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 20/ to 30/; ordinary, and plain ox, 22/ to 25/: prime young cow and heifer beef, 25/ to 28/; ordinary cow beef, 20/ to 24/; rough beef, 14/ to 19/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £12 to £13 5/; lighter prime steers, flO 12/0 to £11 17/0: light prime steers. £9 to £10 10/; unfinished and small, £6 10/ to £S 15/; heavy prime youn» cows and heifers, £7 10/ to £9; light, £4 to £5 la/; lighter, £6 to £7 5/; other.cows, i 2 10/ to £3 17/ G.
