A "COLD" WELCOME.
BAD TIME FOR VISITING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORXE, this day. The Borough Council discussed the projected visit of H.M.s. Veronica, and fear was expressed that if would lead to the congregation of young" people, which is undesirable in view of the present epidemic. The council resolved to emphatically protest against the visit, and ask that it he postponed, hut that if the vessel comes here a welcome be extended.
Advice has since been received that the Veronica will not now visit Gisborne in response to the request made by the municipal authorities.
