BREACH OF AWARD.

BUILDER FINED. H. E. Jficholls, builder, was charged in the Magistrate's Court with a breach of tho carpenters and joiners' award in failing to send written notice to the '' union of the employment of a non--1 unionist worker. For the defendant it - was stated that a large number of men , were employed, and notification to the union had been overlooked. It was not ? known at the time the man was engaged - that he was a non-unionist. Mr. T. K. r Hunt, S.M., remarked that it was the i business of the employer to find out r when he engaged a man whether he was , a unionist or not. A penalty of £1 and costs was inflicted. (
