CITY ASSESSMENT COURT.

KARANGAHAPE ROAD VALUES. At the City Assessment Court, Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M.. had to deal with an objection fn connection with the valuation of a block in Karangahape Road. During the last few years sales of various properties in Karangahape Road have been made at high figures, and this is naturally reflected in valuations for rating purposes. Rendells Ltd., drapers and clothiers, objected to the valuation of their establishment for rating purposes at £65.000. It was stated that in a few years the valuation hart increased from f25,000 to £65,000. The latter figure was claimed to be too high. After going into the matter Mr. Poynton reduced the valuation from £65.000 to £60,000.
