A WIFE'S ILLNESS.
CHARGE AGAINST HUSBAND. LONDON, March 27. The trial of Patrick Marshall, contra tor, on a charge of attempting to poison his wife. Agnes, at Heyfield, in February, has commenced. Accused stated that he often administered a certain drug to horses, and it had done them good. He had taken his wife's medicine thinking it was a bottle of his own. It was alleged that Mrs. Marshall became violently ill after taking the same medicine, to which, an analysis showed, poison bad been added.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
