REPLY TO UNION RESOLUTIONS

WELLINGTON, this day. As the result of a decision reached by ehippmg employers this morning, there £ a poßßibility of a settlement being reached on the waterfront to-morrow! The following letter has been addressed to the secretary of the local union.by Mr. Bennett (secretary of the Waterside Employers' Association): — "I am instructed by my association to intimate to you that, in view of the resolution passed by your union yesterday, and officially communicated to the Press, which, inter alia, states.
