CHURCH UNITY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, During all the discussion on this all-important question, one aspect nas been overlooked. That is the great advantage to be derived in baekbloek districts, where naturally those representing the respective denominations are not sufficient in number to support a church and resident clergyman. But if combined under one head, this ■would soon be accomplished. There may be ample funds for one, but not for the number. Someone may argue this would be denying some poor clergyman a living. Our Bishops are ever reminding us of this fact already. How much better it would be than to know some poorly paid teacher of the Gospel is ■ forced to traverse the wilderness in order to reach lus particular adherents. It really resolves itself into a question of unnecessary overlapping, and why? Because as Christians we do not condescend to agree.—l am, etc., ARTHUR CUMMTXGS.
