GREY LYNN ROADS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —A small hollow between Williamson Avenue and Crammer Road is a joy to ratepayers. Nature had it- covered in green, but along come City Council employees and chop and burn and hew. In case we would overlook the tins, etc., they gather rubbish into a glorious heap and leave it an eyesore to all. Why not remove rubbish and place a notice forbidding people to dump same, and again, why is Williamson Avenue approach protected by rail and Crummer Road approach left open. A taxi just missed a smash by a miracle the other evenirg-. The road is a disgrace. I pay £10 10/ rates and cannot get a load of firewood delivered in winter, and I am on the corner. How women and children get up and down our loose gravel, etc., is a wonder to onlookers. Grey Lynn has some lovely streets, all new and nice, but the nearer one gets to Ponsonby Boad the roads and crossings are like backblocks. Some day the Council will have a case for damages' if Sussex Street is not attended to. —I am, etc., RATEPAYER.
