UNWELCOME GUESTS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Your correspondent "Settler" refers to "the unwelcome guest." Well, I must put it down to "Settler's" ignorance of the fact that no one who .enters New Zealand has been on the dole. If so, they must be very economical to have saved out of it sufficient to pay £20 a head expenses to come to New Zealand. Moreover, we have to get references, besides filling in about three dozen papers, and there must be no fraud in filling them up, because it is inquired into personally. We older folks come here to give our children a chance in life, the same as "Settler" had. Let "Settler" go next time to see the "unwelcome guests" land in New Zeai land, and he will see they are men and women that have had to work hard, and left good to come here.—l am, etc., ONE UNWELCOME GUEST.
