LOWER WAIRAU WATER SCHEME.

CONTROL. BOARD'S CONSTITUTION. The Lake Takapnna Board of Control met yesterday; those present including Messrs. K. P. Greville (chairman), A. M. Gould (Mayor of Takapuna), W. E. Richardson (Mayor of Northcote), EL. C. Walton (Mayor of Birkenhead), and A. V. Fraer, of the Devonport Council. The business of the meeting was consideration of the draft proposal for the amendment of the existing empowering legislation necessary to put into operation the proposed Lower Wairau scheme for supplementing the Lake Takapuna supply. The question of representation, basis upon which finance could be raised, and the apportionment among the various boroughs were the matters chiefly discussed, and the meeting, then adjourned pending the receipt of further necessary information. The board intends to complete the draft proposals by agreement as quickly as possible, so that they may be considered by the .interested local bodies in time to have them placed in the Washing Up Bill of the present session.
