LIVERPOOL GRAND NATIONAL. •SERGBANT MIRPHY WINS. LONDON". .March 23. The Liverpool .Meeting today attacted a very large attendance to Aln tree. His Majesty the King, the Prince of Wales, and Prince Henry were present.

Captain Bennett rode magnificently and with good Judgment, and was utterly fearless. Sergeant Murphy used to be reputed to be wayward, but Captain Bennett by constantly riding him cured that fault.

The race was a record for the veteran division, the aggreeate ages of the three placed horses reaching .35 years.

Mr. S. Sanford, owner of Sergeant Murphy. Is an American sportsman, and is Included In the IMt of International pololsts. He was a contemporary at Catnbrldsre with Mr. F. Dewhurst, who steered CoDjuror 11. into third place.

K. Gibson, an o'id Essex cricketer, who had the mount on I.lffey Hank In the Grand National, sustained a broken collar-hone as the result of a fall.
