A CHINAMAN FINED. (By Telepraph. Tress Association.. WELLINGTON, this day. Last week a seaman named Hcmus was convicted of smuggling opium. To-day a Chinaman named Joe Lain, was convicted of having two tins of opium in his posses-ion. The police stated that this opium was part of what Hemns smuggled from the I'limaroa. Accused was lined £40 and costs, an.l was also fined £10 and costs for 'being in possession of a tire-arm, namely a revolver, which the police found fully loaded on a table by his bed.
