OBITUARY.
CAPTAIN" RHODES, M.C. The death occurred unexpectedly at Timaru on Saturday of Captain Arthur Rhodes. M.C. aged 30. He I-ft Xew Zealand with the Main Body of the N.Z.E.K.. as sergeant in the South Canterbury Regiment, and after distinguished service on f'allipoli. in Palestine, and in France he gained promotion to the rank of captain, bein™ aide de camp to MajorGeneral Sir Edward Chaytor. He was painfully wounded on Oallipoli by bayonet. On returning to Xew Zealand Captain Rhodes married a daughter of Mr. C. Holdsworth, manacing director jof the Union Steamship Company, and ! she survives him with three 'yo.nr.I daughters. Captain Rhodes was a noted j cattle breeder, and a member of the South Canterbury Soldiers' Settlement Board.
