OFFICERS' CLUB BALL.

The president and members of tho Officers Club held their annual ball on Friday evening in the Scots' Hall, which was beautifully decorated for tlie occasion. Across the roof were long streamers of lycopodium interspersed with bunting. Above the stage were looped coloured lanterns, while the front was arranged with pot plants lit from behind, which gave a subdued and charming effect. The walls of the ballroom were, festooned with draped bunting knotted, forming a decoration, while above were arranged laurel wreaths surrounding the mimes of the Somme, Messines, Aisne, Palestine, Arras and La Basseville, names of overremembrance to New Zealunders. Ihe entrance was flanked with a Lewis gun, and massed with pot plants, and coloured lights were played upon the uniforms and the gay frocks upon the dancing floor. Colonel Stevenson received the guests at the entrance and was assisted in welcoming them by Miss Joyce Stevenson, who wore ivory satin with gold lace sleeves. The ball began with an official set of lancers in which Mrs. Maguire danced with Colonel Stevenson and Miss Stevenson with l.ieut-C'ol. Maguire. Mrs. W. .T. Napier with Col. Mackesy, Miss B. Lockhart with Sir (iruham Lockhart, Mrs. Dignan with Mr. Piggott. Mrs. Krnest Davis with Col. llnrdie Neil, Mrs. Quartley witli Col. Shera, and Miss Maguire with Lieut. Anderson.
