Miss Pauline Tulloch, who for the past four years has been secretary of tho Adelaide Young Women's Christian Association, and who has for the past three months been attending the Y.W.C.A. national training .school at Sydney, arrives 'by tlie Manirka to-day to take up the position of senior and induxtrial secretary in tho Auckland Young Women's Christian Association. An enjoyable afternoon was given by Mrs. (Dr.) Thompson at her residence,' Manukau Road, on Thursday. Tea was served in the spacious drawing room, which was decorated with anemones and violets. During the afternoon Miss Mct'orniack sang charmingly. Among the guests were: Mrs. McCormack, Mrs. llerdman, Mrs. (Dr.) Wilkin, Mrs. Kjitloii, Mrs. (Dr.) Rice, Mrs. Walshe. Much interest was taken in a one-step competition iirranged by the committee and keenly entered into by a number of dancers. The prizes, iircsetitcd by Mrs. Mann, were awarded to Mr. R. ' Mardell and his partner. Miss Bobbie flee, the judges being Mrs. Scales and Mr. Ware. Much interest is felt in Red Cross circles on the coming visit of Mrs. Wilson, widow of tho late Dr. Wilson, lof the Scott Antarctic Expedition. Plans for the forthcoming finance campaign wore completed. Tho following ladies were elected as captains for the teams: Mesdames .1. C. Dickinson, C. W. Garrard, and C. A. Whitney, J. Sanderson and A. Buchanan, W. Todd Smith and Murdoch, Snowdon. J. Ambury and Win. i stone. .1. Stanton and Mappin, C. Smith and Crookcs and Miss Geddes. The objective of the campaign was fixed at £-.2500 to clear off the overdraft, secure funds for the forthcoming year and a nucleus of money to begin establishing 11 permanent camp. Arrangements arc ■being made for co-operating business men's team. Miss Griffin, generul secretary, stated that the chief objective of the women's team was to secure a large number of annual subscribers, so as to put the general finances of the association on a satisfactory footing. Mrs. Wake was appointed a new member of the ■ board, as substitute member for Mrs. LisitQE Wilson, who is on extended lea-rv.
