THE HUARUA TUNNEL.

The latest report of the Commissioner of the Auckland Railways and Development League on the progress at the Huarau Tunnel, states: 'Work north of the Paparoa station is steadily going on, good work being done in the Ciolden titairs or Wairerc tunnel especially, but nothing is being done in the station yard. Beyond the Golden Stairs or Wairere tunnel pood work is being done in formation with ploughs and scoops, a much more expeditious method of excavation in shallow cuttings than by pick and shovel. With the advent of dry weather and easier transit of material; j;ood progress is expected all aloDg this section."
