Jamee Scott, main Tanger to the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, appeared "in the Magistrate's Court charged with having on September 14, at Springs-ton attempted to murder Bartholomew McEvedy by shooting him with a revolver. « Accused's couneel applied to have him released on bail. The Magistrate said he understood the present charge might not be gone on with, and might be reduced to one of doing grevous bodily harm. He would allow bail, accused in £600. and two sureties of £300 each.
