The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. Wright) interviewed Sir Francis Bell today "regarding a proposed £15,000 unemployment relief loan. Sir Francis Bell said the proposal would be a bad precedent, 'but he was willing to introduce legislation to permit oif the raising of such a loan. The Mayor proposes to levy a special rate to repay the loan.
