Y.W.C.A. WORK.

# ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Y.W.C.A. took place in the assembly ball yesterday afternoon. This was tho tliirty-tli'ird annual meeting, and there was a good attendance of members and friends. Mrs. G. H. Wilson (president) in her report of the year's work stated that sound progress bad been made, and the speaker thanked all connected with the work for the help they had tendered her in pursuit of the ideals of the Y.W.C.A. She especially thanked the heads of committees and the secretarial staff for the ungrudging service rendered. Every branch which could be self-supporting was so. The hostel accounts showed A credit balance of £15, the Business Girls' C lub a balance on the right side of £100. and the house and cafeteria department had a credit of £107. The gymnasium had also paid its way for the first year, and only showed a deficit of £23. The secretary (Miss Griffin) read a summary of the report, which showed that the financial stringency had prevented the campaign for funds being carried forward. During the year the business men collected £1745, the women's teams £571. and the girls' teams £278, which made a total of £2576. The girls had given very freely out of their own pockets io support the work in which they were interested, and this amounted to the sum of £181, while a jumble sale and rainbow trail brought in ±00. The financial statement, presented by Mrs. Stanton, showed an expenditure for the year of £8902 and a debit balance on the year's working of £427. Donations had "come ill for £1437, and the finance canvass showed the men's collection to be £1767, women's collection £657, and the girls' collection £.'143. The girls' department reported that the membership of the All Round Club was 266. The election of officers followed. On the motion of Mrs. McKail Geddes, Mrs. G. H. Wilson was re-elected president. Mrs. Geddes paid a high tribute to Mrs. Wilson for the untiring effort, time and money she had put into her first year of ollice. The following members of the Board were re-elected: Mesdames J. C. Dickenson, C. A. Whitney, C. W. Garrard, J. McLeod, .1. W. Wiseman, F. J. Sanderson, Charles Smith, VV. M. MeCormick. F. Winstone (elected by the girls). Miss Wallace was elected hon. secretary. During tbe afternoon songs were given by Misses Gummer and Brooke, and afternoon tea was served. In tne evening a rally was held by the girls with great success. _______________________
