Mr. Justice Sim. who has been taking the sittings of the Supreme Court for several weeks, leaves Auckland this afternoon'by the Monowai, on his return to Dunedin. Or. G. W. Meade, of llokitika, was a passenger from London by the Remuera. Lieut. R. J. Robertson, of Auckland. arrived by the Remuera. He is late of the Scot's Guards. Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, wife of Mr. A. M. Ferguson, Belgian Consul, returned by the Remuera to-day. Mr. J- Barnes-Graham, of (lisborne. with hie wife and family, returned by the Remuera this morning. I Mr. Jorm Townley. who died at Gis--1 borne recently, aged S.l years, was. in the I early days, connected 'with tho volunI teers, and was present at the capture of I Omaranui Pa in ISO", lie was one of • the first councillors of Gisborne, and '. elected Mayor in 1S0:_. which office lie 1 tilled for many years. He was also chairman of Gisborne Harbour Hoard, of the 1 Local Buildin-r Society, and Supcrintenj dent of the Fire Brigade.
